Royal Challengers Bengaluru vs Gujarat Titans
M Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru at 7.30 pm
What new thing will this conflict lead to ?
After a dazzling week of IPL action, now the match is going to be played in Bengaluru! RCB has started the IPL 2025 season with two dazzling victories. After winning two consecutive matches while playing outside home, RCB will today return with the intention of winning on its home ground. Along with RCB, it will be like a homecoming for some other players as well. Mohammad Siraj, who was a part of RCB continuously for seven years, is coming back, along with Anuj Rawat, Sherfane Rutherford and Mahipal Lomror have also played for RCB at some time.
Key Battles
Stopping the RCB bowlers can be a challenging task for the GT spinners. Captain Rajat Patidar bats very well against the spin. On Chinnaswamy’s free-flowing pitch, Rajat Patidar and Devdutt Padikkal together can give a tough fight to Rashid Khan and Sai Kishore. On the other hand, Shubman Gill and Sai Sudharsan will be facing Josh Hazlewood (if deemed fit), who has performed well so far against hard-length deliveries. But RCB’s hopes are pinned on Bhuvneshwar Kumar because Bhuvneshwar Kumar has an excellent record against Gill and Buttler. Gill has been sent to the pavilion three times while Buttler has been sent to the pavilion seven times by Bhuvneshwar Kumar.
RCB Likely XI
When there is a continuous winning streak, there is no point in changing the team combination, but considering the pitch conditions, RCB can include either Suyash Sharma or Rasikh Dar in the team.
Virat Kohli, Phil Salt, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (c), Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma (wk), Tim David, Krunal Pandya, Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Josh Hazlewood, Yash Dayal
Impact sub: Suyash Sharma/Rasikh Salam Dar
GT Likely XI
In-form batsman Sai Sudarshan suffered a hamstring injury while fielding in the match against Mumbai Indians, which has become a matter of concern for the Gujarat titans. If Sudarshan is not able to play, then Jos Buttler and Shubman Gill can be seen opening for the Gujarat Titans or else Anuj Rawat can get a chance today who has experience of opening.
Shubman Gill (c), Sai Sudharsan/ Anuj Rawat, Jos Buttler (wk), Shahrukh Khan, Sherfane Rutherford, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Kagiso Rabada, R Sai Kishore, Mohammad Siraj, Prasidh Krishna
Impact sub: Ishant Sharma
Pitch and Weather Report
We can expect to see a rain of runs this time on the Bengaluru pitch! Just as we see in every format, the pitch helps the seamers, the same can happen here as well, but bowling here can be quite challenging for leg spinners.
Chances of rain are almost negligible on Wednesday, but due to humidity rise in the evening, dew might come into play, which can make the pitch slippery.
