K.L. Rahul once again showed how matches are won under pressure. In the match played at Bengaluru’s M. Chinnaswamy Stadium on Thursday, Rahul played a brilliant innings of 93* runs against Royal Challengers Bengaluru and helped Delhi Capitals win by 6 wickets.

This match was a perfect “ghar wapsi” for Rahul – Rahul hit 7 fours and 6 amazing sixes in 53 balls. When DC’s score was just 58/4, he patiently built his innings and took control of the match. He pulled the momentum completely towards DC by hitting 3 fours and 1 six off Josh Hazlewood in the 15th over.

After that Delhi needed only 43 runs in 5 overs to win, Rahul along with Stubbs (38*) made this chase even easier. Delhi Capitals also won their 4th constructive match in IPL 2025 and have maintained their unbeaten streak till now.

On the other hand, RCB had a very good start but due to continuous fall of wickets, RCB lost momentum. Phil Salt played a fiery innings and scored 37 runs in 17 balls, Phil Salt hit a brilliant 30 runs in one over of Starc. But Salt’s run-out proved to be the turning point of the game. Kohli and Padikkal’s slow play cost RCB dearly.

Playing slow in the middle overs, RCB could only score 32 runs and lost three important wickets. Kohli tried to hit a big shot but the ball went straight into Starc’s hands. Captain Patidar (25) tried to fight a bit but did not get any support. Livingstone and Jitesh Sharma flopped.

Tim David (37 off 20) played some big shots in the final overs and scored a massive 36 runs in the last 2 overs. But DC’s bowling attack and Rahul’s classic chase were enough to defeat RCB.
