2 runs were needed on the last ball of the match, but in the pursuit of the second run Dhruv Jurel became the victim of Axar Patel’s tight throw.

The IPL 2025 encounter between Rajasthan Royals and Delhi Capitals turned out to be a tremendous thriller, which was decided in the first Super Over of the tournament.
Delhi batted first and made a strong total of 188/5, in which Abishek Porel batted brilliantly and scored 49 runs and KL Rahul added valuable runs.
Jofra Archer gave a big blow to Delhi Capitals in the powerplay, first taking the wickets of Jake Fraser-McGurk and then breaking Rahul’s dangerous partnership.
Karun Nair also became the victim of a brilliant run out, DC had to face early pressure.
In the middle overs, Axar Patel played fast and gave momentum to the innings by scoring 34(14) runs.
Stubbs and Ashutosh Sharma hit important boundaries at the end of the innings, taking the score to 188.
RR started the chase with a bang. Jaiswal and Samson thrashed the bowlers in the powerplay.
But Sanju Samson got hurt in the sixth over and had to retire hurt due to rib pain.
Rian Parag flopped and scored just 8 runs before getting caught by Axar. Jaiswal completed his half-century with classy batting and showered boundaries. Nitish Rana also gave good support and kept the innings in balance by completing his fifty.
After his dismissal, Jurel and Hetmyer continued to attack the bowlers, but scored only 8 runs in the last over while 9 runs were needed to win.
The match was tied and went into the Super Over – full drama!
RR sent Hetmyer and Parag to bat, but both were run out after scoring just 11 runs.
DC chased the target of 12 with KL Rahul and Stubbs. Stubbs finished the match by scoring a big hit – DC won against Rajasthan in just 4 balls.
Mitchell Starc put Rajasthan batsmen in trouble by bowling with the right line and length in both the last over and the Super Over, remained cool and composed even under pressure.
Axar Patel gave a game-changing moment of the match with economical bowling.
After this win, Delhi Capitals became the table topper with 10 points.
For Rajasthan, the match slipped out of their hands almost before winning it – a painful moment for the fans.
Even Samson’s injury became a setback for the team, due to which the momentum was broken. RR’s next match is against Lucknow, where they will try their best to make a comeback.
