Sai Sudarshan and Prasidh Krishna won the Orange and Purple Caps in IPL 2025, Kohli and Hazlewood showed consistency

Gujarat Titans‘ B Sai Sudarshan and Prasidh Krishna won the Orange and Purple Caps respectively, while two veteran players of Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB), Virat Kohli and Josh Hazlewood finished third. Orange Cap: Sai Sudarshan made a splash
B Sai Sudarshan of Gujarat Titans won the title of the highest run-scorer in IPL 2025. He scored 759 runs in the entire tournament and left Mumbai Indians‘ Suryakumar Yadav by 42 runs who finished second with 717 runs. This performance of Sudarshan is also special because his team could not reach the final yet he surprised everyone with his batting.
At the same time, RCB star batsman Virat Kohli played a brilliant innings of 43 runs in the final to finish third in the Orange Cap table. Kohli scored 657 runs this season. Even though he could not win the Orange Cap this time, his consistency once again proved why he is among the greats of cricket. Kohli has previously won this honor in 2016 and 2024.
Gujarat Titans captain Shubman Gill (650 runs) and Lucknow Super Giants‘ Mitchell Marsh (627 runs) were also among the top five batsmen in the IPL 2025 Orange and Purple Cap tables. These players won the hearts of the fans with their performance.
Purple Cap: Prasidh Krishna became number one
Gujarat Titans’ Prasidh Krishna won the list of highest wicket-taking bowlers. He took 25 wickets in 15 innings and surpassed Chennai Super Kings’ Noor Ahmed (24 wickets). Krishna’s brilliant bowling gave double happiness to Gujarat Titans, as Sudarshan won the Orange Cap from his team.
RCB fast bowler Josh Hazlewood finished third with 22 wickets. The special thing is that Hazlewood did this feat in just 12 innings. He was out of some matches due to a shoulder injury in the second half of the tournament, otherwise he would have been further ahead in the Purple Cap race. In the final, he gave his team a strong start by taking the important wicket of Priyansh Arya.
Mumbai Indians’ Trent Boult (22 wickets) and Punjab Kings’ Arshdeep Singh (21 wickets) were also among the top five bowlers in the IPL 2025 Orange and Purple Cap tables. Arshdeep took 3 wickets in the final, but he finished fifth.
Kohli and Hazlewood: Heroes of RCB’s victory
Virat Kohli and Josh Hazlewood may have missed out on the Orange and Purple Caps, but their consistency gave RCB their first IPL title after 18 years. Kohli scored consistently throughout the season and handled the team in difficult times. On the other hand, Hazlewood troubled the batsmen with his accurate bowling. RCB’s success would have been incomplete without the contribution of these two.
