RR vs GT: 14-year-old Vaibhav hit a century in 35 balls, historic partnership of 166 runs with Jaiswal!

Rajasthan’s ‘Dynamite Duo’ rocked the boat!
In the RR vs GT match held at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Monday, Yashasvi Jaiswal and Vaibhav Suryavanshi did a feat that not only changed the course of the match but also added a new chapter in the pages of IPL history. These two young batsmen made a blistering partnership of 166 runs for the first wicket which is Rajasthan Royals biggest partnership record for any wicket.
14-year-old ‘wonderkid’ broke all records!
The most talked about thing about this pair was the century of 14 years 32 days old Vaibhav Suryavanshi in 35 balls. This is not only the youngest century in IPL history but also a ray of new hope for Indian cricket. Vaibhav did this amazing feat in his very first IPL season. His innings included 11 sixes and 7 fours which gave sleepless nights to the bowlers of Gujarat Titans.
Jaiswal’s patience, Vaibhav’s dhamaal: How did the pair create magic?
While Vaibhav brought the bowlers to their knees with his aggression, Yashasvi Jaiswal gave stability to the team with his restrained play. Jaiswal played a brilliant innings of 68 runs in 45 balls which included 5 fours and 2 sixes. This ‘fire and ice’ strategy of both of them never gave GT captain Shubhman Gill a chance to change the strategy.
Butler-Padikkal’s record broken!
Earlier, Rajasthan Royals’ highest partnership record was held by Jos Buttler and Devdutt Padikkal, who added 155 runs against Delhi Capitals in 2022. The Jaiswal-Suryavanshi pair surpassed it by 11 runs. The breaking of this record is an indication that RR has made the right decision by trusting the youth.
Will this pair become the ‘Superstar Duo’ of the future?
Vaibhav’s age and Jaiswal’s experience make this pair special. Coach Kumar Sangakkara said after the match, “Vaibhav’s fearlessness and Yashasvi’s patience are very important for the team. This pair can give a new definition to cricket in the coming years.”
