Sunil Narine broke IPL history, broke the record of most dismissals against PBKS!
Kolkata Knight Riders legendary spinner Sunil Narine created a new record in IPL history by taking two more wickets against Punjab Kings. Narine showed the magic of spin along with Varun Chakravarthy
Along with Narine’s magic spin, Varun Chakravarthy also took two wickets, due to which PBKS’s innings was limited to just 111 runs. Apart from this, Harshit Rana took 3 wickets and further strengthened the dominance of KKR’s bowlers, which made it easy for the defending champions to control the match.
Middle order collapse changed the way of the game
When it came to batting, KKR was troubled by the early dismissals of Quinton de Kock and Narine. But captain Ajinkya Rahane and Angkrish Raghuvanshi together made a brilliant partnership of 55 runs, which brought the team back in the race for victory. Rahane made 17 runs and gave hope of victory to the KKR’s fans.
Yuzvendra Chahal’s spin fest
KKR’s middle order was in turmoil when Yuzvendra Chahal took 4 wickets with his excellent spin. His deadly leg-spin confused KKR’s hitters and KKR were all-out for just 95 runs, giving PBKS a stunning victory of 16 runs.
Shreyas Iyer’s post-match analysis
After the match, Shreyas Iyer highlighted the bounce and spin-friendly nature of the pitch and said, “It is difficult to put it into words. I trusted my instincts and told Yuzi to control his breathing a bit. There was both turn and low bounce on the wicket, everyone was having trouble taking sweep shots.”
